Traditional Chinese Ink Painting - $200 for 10 45-minute workshops (inc. materials), Lida Wu, Instructor.
Traditional Chinese ink painting uses black ink, brush and rice paper; also importantly it includes all color pigments from nature. Ink painting is attractive because of its special techniques which are full of Asia art philosophies and natural materials (artists don’t have to worry so much about allergies. The workshop will include: techniques of ink painting on the individual items painting, such as panda, plum tree, orchid, bamboo, and chrysanthemum. Students are also encouraged to create other objects after mastering the techniques.

Art for Young Artists! (Pre-K - 6th grades)

Description: Join Art Teacher Jeanine Lipp for a funfilled session exploring the world of Art. Giggling is required. Young Artists will discover watercolor techniques, printing, color mixing, collage, and much more. Older Artists will have fun learning about 3D drawing, cartooning, painting with pastels, creating masks, making art that flies, and much more.
Your child will be encouraged to use their own creativity and style in each project.
Please bring an old t-shirt to wear over clothing.

Summer String Ensembles

- bi-weekly Thursdays 7:30PM - 8:15PM.

The Summer String Ensemble will be taught by Dee's Music Room Instructor Beth Chandler who has over 40 yrs of ensemble experience. Students will get a chance to perform pieces they have been working on, as well as sight reading, in a group setting. These classes give experience and confidence to later playing in school or community orchestras, besides introducing the fun of playing with other players. Students will learn how to follow a conductor, listen to each other, and the basic mechanics of ensemble playing.
Instruments welcome: Violins, Violas, Cellos, String Bass.
